Veneers

Porcelain veneers are a very popular treatment that allow us to eliminate a variety of smile flaws simultaneously, including:

  • Stains
  • Chips
  • Cracks
  • Gaps
  • Undersized teeth
  • Misshapen teeth
  • Slightly crooked teeth

They are actually extremely thin porcelain coverings that are fitted to the front of the teeth, and they are always custom-designed by a patient and Dr. Mohr. With them, you can enhance a single tooth or get an entire set to achieve a full smile makeover.

All-Porcelain Crowns

If one of your front teeth ever becomes damaged or decayed, we have the perfect solution to bring back your smile’s strength and beauty at the same time: all-porcelain crowns. Dental porcelain is extremely strong, durable, and it can also be shaped and shaded to completely mimic real enamel in every way, even down to how it reflects light. With this material, Dr. Mohr can create a crown that is so lifelike, even YOU will have trouble telling it apart from your real teeth!

Cosmetic Bonding

What is cosmetic bonding? If your smile is affected by small chips, narrow gaps, or minimal damage and you want an alternative to porcelain veneers, you should consider cosmetic dental bonding. Instead of creating a veneer to completely cover the front of your tooth, we can reshape imperfections with a moldable composite resin material. Some patients may find that cosmetic dental bonding doesn’t meet their needs, but Dr. Mohr can walk you through your options at our Massapequa Park dental office.

Gummy Smile COrrection

Do your teeth appear to be too short or stubby because of an overbearing gum line? Or, is your gum line uneven, which causes your smile to look a little…off? If so, then Dr. Mohr can take care of both of these problems in just one appointment using our soft tissue laser. With it, he can painlessly remove excess gum tissue to expose previously hidden dental structure and reshape your gum line to give you that perfectly proportioned look while you relax in the chair.

Understanding the Cost of Cosmetic Dentistry

Young man with veneers smiling and laughing

Because cosmetic dentistry typically isn’t covered by dental insurance, it’s important for patients to understand their financial commitment before agreeing to any treatment. That way, they can know what to expect and just enjoy the journey toward their new smile.

The work we do is always fully customized to the patient, so there isn’t a set price, even for specific procedures. It all depends on your goals and the current state of your teeth. We’ll go over all of these details at your initial consultation so you’ll leave without questions, and you’ll find plenty of helpful information below as well.

Which Cosmetic Dental Service is Right for Me?

Man talking to assistant about cosmetic dentistry

The pricing for cosmetic dentistry lies on a spectrum, with more affordable services, more expensive ones, and plenty of choices in the middle. Starting with the most budget-friendly services and moving upward…

  • Teeth Whitening: Offering both in-office and take-home options, this can help you eliminate stains in as little as an hour or while you relax on your couch.
  • Cosmetic Bonding: Perfect for covering small chips, cracks, and gaps, composite resin allows your cosmetic dentist to literally sculpt away any flaw.
  • Invisalign: This allows patients to straighten their teeth without having to wear noticeable metal braces.
  • Veneers: The “secret” behind many celebrity smiles, these thin shells are made by our master ceramist and fitted to the teeth to enhance their shape, size, color, and spacing at the same time.
  • Smile Makeover: If a patient requires more than one treatment to achieve their ultimate look, a makeover enables us to combine multiple services into one cohesive and efficient approach.

Is Cosmetic Dentistry Worth the Investment?

Your smile is one of your most important assets, whether you’re talking about your personal relationships, professional relationships, or even your self-esteem. It plays a big role in what kind of first impression you make, plus it can go a long way in ensuring you feel either self-confident or nervous when stepping into a new or unfamiliar situation.

Imagine going in for a job interview, on a date, or simply hanging out with friends and family, and having the certainty that your smile looks great and will instantly catch people’s attention for all the right reasons. This self-assuredness is hard to put a price on when you’ll enjoy it for decades to come after cosmetic dentistry, and it’s why most of our patients only regret not coming to see us sooner.

Cosmetic Dentistry FAQs

We strive to help our patients enjoy peace of mind before every treatment, which is why if you’re interested in getting veneers to enhance your smile, we’re more than willing to answer any questions you might have. We’ve gone ahead and responded to some of the most popular ones below, but if you want to know anything else about veneers that we haven’t addressed here, you’re invited to give our team a call.

What is the most popular cosmetic dental procedure?

Teeth whitening is by far the most popular cosmetic dental procedure in our practice and pretty much every other practice around the world. Lightening the teeth can have a dramatic effect on someone’s appearance in as little as an hour, plus it is one of the most affordable options when compared to other cosmetic treatments.

We offer both fast in-office whitening with Zoom! and next-level take-home whitening with KOR, enabling our patients to make their smiles 6-10 shades brighter in whatever way works best for them.

What qualifies someone to call themselves a “cosmetic dentist”?

Unlike orthodontics, pediatrics, or periodontics, cosmetic dentistry is not a recognized specialty by the American Dental Association. As such, a dentist does not have to have any special qualifications in order to claim to be one. With other specialties, a dentist has to complete additional training beyond dental school and be certified before they can legally say they are an orthodontist, pediatric dentist, etc.

So it all comes down to experience, training, and results, all of which Dr. Mohr has in spades. He has practiced for over 40 years, completed hundreds of dramatic transformations, completed 3,000 hours of continuing education, and is an active member of organizations like the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the American Society for Dental Aesthetics.

Is cosmetic dentistry painful?

By and large, cosmetic dentistry is about making subtle but impactful changes to the overall look of the teeth. As such, most procedures are not too involved and therefore not painful. However, a patient should expect some soreness or tenderness that is normal following any kind of dental treatment. Thankfully, these symptoms tend to be minor, brief, and easily managed with OTC medication if needed.

Can I use dental insurance to help pay for cosmetic dentistry?

Cosmetic dentistry is typically considered to be “elective” by most dental insurance providers, which means they will not offer any coverage. Providers will sometimes help pay for restorative procedures (like crowns) to address issues like broken or decayed teeth that help with structural issues while also improving someone’s appearance.

To help patients afford the care they need to get the smiles they want, we have several special offers going right now, plus we offer low-to-no-interest financing through CareCredit and LendingClub that you can sign up for through our website just by clicking here.
